Our Story
What? You got married? When did this happen?!
After many years of friendship forged in a passion for giving back to our communities and the pursuit of knowledge (although not always applied in academic settings), we began our courtship in late 2018 and quickly realized that we wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of eternity together.
Jorge Luis García Escoto
While I was unconvinced about dating in general, soon after our courtship began, I realized that Jorge is my perfect match. He is a Wake Tech and UNC Charlotte grad just like myself who is as driven by his faith and service to his community as I am. Jorge brings a steady determination and pragmatism that I could only dream of. We share so much but are also so clearly different and I am so looking forward to spending the rest of our lives helping each other to remember the small things and to arguing over the optimal method of putting together a puzzle.
Rocío Malena Arguijo Mendoza
Rocio is the woman I fell in love with. She pushes me to be a better person for my community, my family and myself. All while providing me with her unending (hopefully) love and support. She is passionate about helping others through her work, volunteering and day to day life in a way that inspires those around her to do more. All while maintaining her own flair for the dramatic and unhealthy love for the tv show Grey's Anatomy.
What's Next?
February 15th was day for the books. Wedding planning was no joke so we took a week off of work, grabbed a pile of books each and headed down to Charleston, SC. We spent a week relaxing, reading, and getting to know the lovely town of Charleston.
After our honeymoon we are happy to report that we will be staying Charlotte, NC where we both attended college and are now working. God only knows where life will take us but at the moment we are content to live and work in the Queen City.
